“People who enjoy meetings should not be in charge of anything.” (Thomas Sowell)

This is Brewdog, the brewery that every beer fan is talking about. They are based in Scotland, but now own bars in various locations in the UK. The beers generally have a high alcohol content; this could be to reflect their punk/rebellious attitude. They are all made using traditional brewing methods, but usually with a twist, such as brewing beer under water in the ocean or brewing beer on a sailing ship. They have also gained a lot of publicity by outdoing themselves numerous times on creating the strongest beer in the world; the strongest they have brewed is 55% ABV. The identity of the brewery certainly reflects their attitude; the rough-and-ready logo, the daring beer names and the images of mass-produced lagers having their heads chopped off. They seemed to have pulled it off and are getting more popular every year; one of their bars has recently opened in Manchester.
“Beer was never meant to be bland, tasteless and apathetic.
At BrewDog we are setting the record straight.
We are committed to making the highest quality beers with the finest fresh natural ingredients.
Our beers are in no way commercial or mainstream.
We do not merely aspire to the proclaimed heady heights of conformity through neutrality and blandness.
We are unique and individual.
A beacon of non-conformity in a increasingly monotone corporate desert.
We are proud to be an intrepid David in a desperate ocean of insipid Goliaths.
We are proud to be an alternative.” (Brewdog)

This is my final logo for the Revolution. I decided to use a slightly darker red to reflect the old revolutionary artwork that I had studied in my research, particularly from the Russian Revolution. I also used on old retro typeface and reversed some of the letters to continue the Russian Revolution theme. The bold typeface complements the robust, heavy characteristics of the symbol above it.
